What is TREK?
Trek is our AWANA Middle School experience for all 6th through 8th grade students and is a fun opportunity for students to connect with friends while being challenged to grow in their knowledge of God and relationship with Jesus. This program challenges students to wrestle with the three most important questions they’re asking in middle school:
- Who am I?
- Why am I here?
- Who’s with me?
When is TREK?
Trek meets year round every Sunday morning during the 10:30am worship service in the upstairs Middle School room of the Worship & Children Center. Throughout the school year, middle school students will complete book requirements for AWANA awards. Each summer, there is a separate engaging teaching series. New TREK curriculum begins at the end of each summer.
2024-2025 Curriculum Start Date: August 18, 2024
Who should register for TREK?
Registration NOT Required:
Registration is not required to attend Trek. Any student who does not register will receive the Trek Essentials handbook. This condensed version of the main Trek Bible Study handbook gives students a snapshot of the weekly lesson. This allows students to be able to engage and follow along in Trek on Sunday mornings, helping them to grow in their faith and knowledge of God. Students using the Essentials handbook will not be eligible for traditional Awana Awards such as the Timothy Award, Meritorious Award, and/or Citation award.
Registration Required:
Registration is required for students who wish to work through the Trek Bible Study Handbook. The Trek Bible Study handbook has biblically rich content with practical application for students’ lives. Each weekly section includes a lesson, memory verse, and seven days of devotions and questions to complete at home that will help students grow a deeper understanding of the Bible and have deeper group discussions during Trek on Sunday mornings.
Completing the Trek Study Bible handbook is required if a student is working toward traditional Awana Awards such as the Timothy Award, Meritorious Award, and/or Citation award. There are schools that provide scholarships for students who have reached various levels of achievement within the Awana curriculum.
