Why Journey Groups?
At Cornerstone, we share Christ and share life through Journey Groups! As we continue to grow larger as a church, we work hard to grow deeper, as well. This happens primarily through Journey Groups, so we encourage all of our members to commit to group life. According to Ephesians 4:15-16, “Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” In the community of a Journey Group we fulfill this calling, intentionally growing in spiritual maturity and being equipped and mobilized for ministry (sharing life) and mission (sharing Christ).
Groups are generally affinity-based (mature adults, empty-nesters, young families, parents of teens, etc.) and meet on weeknights in homes throughout our community. Discussion is sermon-based and facilitated by an individual or couple equipped to lead the group interaction and shepherd the group as they care for one another, serve in ministry at Cornerstone, and live on mission. Childcare is not provided, but some groups have developed shared childcare solutions. Groups generally range from 10-18 in attendance and include a combination of biblical discussion, prayer, and fellowship.
Register online for assistance finding a group that best suits your needs or stop by the welcome desk in the atrium for more information. We believe it is God’s will for every member of Cornerstone to be actively involved in a Journey Group, so please let us help you get connected!
